Artist Statement
Whether deliberate or not, my work is a reflection of me and my perception of the world. Everybody sees the world in there own unique way, and my work reflects how I view it. We live in an industrialized age were man has taken over the land and put his mark on it. I find this new landscape as my subject, a smokestack, water tower or a city skyline. My work is not traditionally documentary, however it does reveal bits of truth about our past and present. A capitalist would consider these things accomplishments, moving forward the progress of mankind. I don’t deny this I simply live with it. And that’s how I came about photographing these things. I live around them, in them, with them; and they affect my view of the world. ∑ Joshua Jensen-Nagle
