Bob Carey
Artistís Statement
Bobís personal journey with his fine art photography continues with his series of silver portraiture. Often using himself as the portraitís subject, the workís intent is to spark a discussion about issues of self-examination in the contexts of gender and identity that each of us face at points in our lives. Often whimsical in nature, Bobís work can be viewed as unsettling or disturbing. However, the purpose of the work is not usually to shock, but rather to request a personal response from the viewer. Viewer engagement is of underlying importance in Bobís work that continues to be personally investigative
