Alan Avery
"My goal as director is to bring together collectors and art while
developing the collector's awareness through our expertise in
technique, composition and quality. Art education and appreciation is a
responsibility I take seriously in the hope that collectors will
recognize a work of art as a soulful experience rather than an item of
decoration."
Avery is responsible for reviewing and recommending artists for
long-term representation and career development. Among his duties are
direction and motivation of the sales and administrative staff,
overseeing the gallery's educational programs, and consulting with the
community-at-large on art events. Avery supervises all contracts and
the day-to-day operations of the gallery.
Prior to joining Trinity Gallery (previous name of Alan Avery Art Company), Avery was director of one of Atlanta's top
galleries where he coordinated and executed four major exhibitions a
year. He attended
Georgia State University in Business Information Systems. He has a diploma of excellence
with a concentration in visual arts and minor in dance from the North
Carolina School of the Arts and has completed 82 hours toward his
bachelor of fine arts degree in painting.
Among his other accomplishments, Alan is the current president of the Atlanta
Gallery Association, previous executive director of the
Atlanta Public Arts Project, previous member of the Georgia Tech Visual Arts
Advisory Board, previous committee member of Arts Festival of Atlanta, and corporate
donor member of the High Museum of Art.
Alan Avery Art Company is a progressive, trend-setting art gallery of
national reputation that constantly pushes the edge in contemporary
painting, sculpture and photography. Housed in a two-story,
7,500-square-foot building that was once Buckhead's grand Rue de Paris
restaurant, the gallery exclusively represents over 70 artists
comprising three levels: emerging, mid and advanced career. Alan Avery Art Company also offers design services including art selection and
installation for businesses and corporations, and assisting the owner
as an intermediary in the resale market.
